* In honor of the 90th birthday of Haim Cohn, one of the towering legal figures of Israel and one of the foremost champions of civil rights, the Israel Civil Rights Association is holding a conference on Civil Rights - Now More than Ever commencing at 5.30 p.m. at the Van Leer Institute, 43 Rehov Jabotinsky, Jerusalem. SATURDAY, JUNE 23

* The Jewish Agency Assembly will open at the Hyatt Hotel, Jerusalem with an address by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon prior to his departure for the US. Sharon will leave for the airport from the Assembly. The two priorities in the Assembly's deliberations will be global Jewish solidarity and increasing the Jewish demography in the Galilee and the Negev by providing an attractive and efficient infrastructure.

SUNDAY, JUNE 24

* The opening of the Board Meeting of the New Israel Fund will take place at 7 p.m. at the Dan Carmel Hotel, Haifa.

* Knesset Speaker and would-be leader of the Labor Party, Avraham Burg together with the Zippori Center for Community Education is organizing the Second Citizens' Conference - a four-day meeting in which the people affected at grass roots level rather than academic experts exploring theories, will conduct an in-depth examination of the issue of unemployment.
