Snow Conditions on Vic ski fields

MELBOURNE, Aug 5 AAP - Fair to good skiing on firm packed snow,
with extensive grooming and snowmaking overnight, the Victorian
Snow Report said.

Chains must be carried and fitted where directed.

Conditions at 6.00am:

FALLS CREEK: Good to very good skiing on firm packed snow on
all areas open. Extensive grooming and snowmaking overnight.
Terrain park open. Best skiing Ruined Castle, Scotts, Towers and
Playground. Cross-country: Very good with over 20kms of recently
groomed trails. Lifts: 17/18. Temp: -4.9 degC. Snow depth: 53cm.
Snowmaking areas: Very good. Fresh: 0cm. Last snow: 30/7. Wind:
Mod S. Visibility: Excellent. Snowmaking: In progress. Weather:
Clear. Toboggan run: Open. Road: Open and clear.

MT BULLER: Good to very good skiing on firm packed snow in most
open areas. Extensive grooming overnight. Beginners-Bourke St and
Baldy, Intermediate-LT Buller, Advanced-Mens Downhill and Slalom
Gully. Cross country: Good through Village (recently groomed).
Lifts: 20/25. Temp: -2.7 degC. Snow depth: 42cm. Snowmaking areas:
Very good. Fresh: 0cm. Last snow: 30/7. Wind: Moderate S.
Visibility: Good. Snowmaking: When conditions permit. Weather:
Clear. Toboggan run: Open. Road: Open and clear.

MT HOTHAM: Very good skiing and boarding on a very good cover
of packed snow in all areas open. Extensive grooming and
snowmaking overnight. Cross country: Good to very good skiing on
most trails with fair skiiing to Dinner Plain (groomed). Lifts:
12/13. Temp: -4 degC. Snow depth: 65cm. Snowmaking areas: Very
good. Fresh: 0cm. Last snow: 31/7. Wind: Light S. Visibility:
Clear. Snowmaking: In progres. Weather: Clear. Toboggan run: Open.
Road: Open and icy patches.

MT BAW BAW: Fair to good skiing and boarding on the Hut Run and
West Wood (Summit) runs on a firm packed snow cover. Good
sightseeing snow, toboganning and snowplay. Chairlift to operate
on demand for sightseeing. Cross country: Good on groomed snow
cover on upper trails. Fair lower. Lifts: 3/8. Temp: -1 degC. Snow
depth: 13cm. Fresh: 0cm. Last snow: 31/7. Snowplay: Good. Wind:
Light S. Visibility: Good. Snowmaking areas: When conditions
permit. Weather: Clear. Toboggan run: Open, good. Road: Open and
clear.

MT BUFFALO: Good to very good skiing on a fresh manmade and
groomed snow cover. Good sightseeing snow, snowplay and
toboganning. Cross country: Poor on Horn Road (very patchy).
Patchy on 4km loop. Lifts: 3/5. Temp: -1.9 degC. Snow depth: 11cm.
Snowmaking areas: Very Good. Fresh: 0cm. Last snow: 31/7. Wind:
Light E. Visibility: Excellent. Snowmaking: When conditions
permit. Weather: Clear. Toboggan run: Open, clear. Road: Open and
icy.

LAKE MOUNTAIN: Fair cross country skiing on upper trails with
patchy snow on lower levels on a softening snow cover. Fair
sightseeing snow, snowplay and toboganning. Temp: 1.1 degC. Snow
depth: 5cm. Snowmaking areas: Fair. Fresh: 0cm. Last snow: 31/7.
Wind: Light WSW. Visibility: Good. Snowmaking: When conditions
permit. Weather: Clear. Toboggan run: Open, Fair. Road: Open and
clear.

MT STIRLING: Good cross country on the upper trails only. Poor
to fair sightseeing snow/snowplay. Firm coverage early softening
during the day. Shuttle bus running to Kings Saddle. Snow
depth:20cm. Fresh: 0cm. Last snow: 31/7. Weather: Clear. Wind:
Light S. Visibility: Good. Toboggan run: Closed. Road: Open and
clear.

DINNER PLAIN: Good downhill and fair cross country skiing on
upper trails (ungroomed). Good cross country through to Wire Plain
and to Hotham on link trail (ungroomed). Good sightseeing and
toboganning. Lifts: 1/1. Snow depth: 10cm. Fresh: 0cm. Last snow:
31/7. Wind: Light S. Visibility: Good. Toboggan run: Open, fair.
Road: Open and icy.

MT ST GWINEAR: Poor cross country skiing on poor cover of
softening snow. Good sightseeing snow and snowplay. No
tobogganing. Facilities: Open. Road: Open and clear.

MT DONNA BUANG: No snow.

Outlook: Fri/Sat- Fine. Sun-Fine and cloud increasing.
