Fed: Rodin exhibition opens in Canberra today

Some of the world's most famous sculpture goes on show in Australia's capital today.

The exhibition of works by French sculptor AUGUSTE RODIN opens at the National Gallery
of Australia in Canberra.

It includes more than 80 bronzes, from intimate studies to monumental works like The Thinker.

It's the biggest collection of RODIN's work to be exhibited in Australia and also includes
some of his drawings.

Gallery director BRIAN KENNEDY says RODIN is commonly regarded as the man who paved
the way for 20th-century sculptors.

The exhibition has moved to Canberra from Perth after a season at the Art Gallery of
Western Australia and runs until February 24.
